The real cost of cheap plastic lighters
Let's do the maths. A ₹50 plastic gas lighter lasts 2–3 months before the spark weakens, the button jams, or the body cracks. That's 4–5 lighters per year — ₹200–250 annually, plus the daily frustration of unreliable sparks when you're rushing to cook.
The ZORACook Premium Steel Gas Lighter costs ₹149 — once. It delivers 10,000+ powerful sparks from a piezo ignition system housed in a full stainless steel body. It pays for itself inside the first year, and then keeps going for several more. See the full five-year cost comparison.
Indian kitchens are demanding — 3–5 stove lightings per day, heat exposure, oil splashes and humid monsoon air. The stainless steel body doesn't crack, warp or degrade, and the piezo spark mechanism is sealed against moisture.

How to use
- Bring the lighter to the burner first. Hold the long nose just above the burner ring, before any gas is flowing.
- Turn on the gas. Open the stove knob and ignite within a second or two — never let gas build up before sparking.
- Press the button. One firm press produces the spark. If the stove does not light on the first two clicks, turn the gas off, let it clear, then try again.
- Check the flame. Confirm the burner is properly lit before walking away, and turn the gas knob fully off after cooking.
- Wipe and store dry. Clean off oil splatter and keep the lighter dry between uses, away from the burner.
Spark lighter, not a flame lighter. This is a piezo spark lighter designed for gas burners — it does not produce a standing flame, so it will not light a diya, candle or agarbatti. For those, use the Arc BBQ Lighter (₹189) with its flexible neck.

Frequently asked questions
Q: What is the best gas lighter for an Indian kitchen that lasts long?
A: The ZORACook Premium Steel Gas Lighter (₹149) is a top choice — full stainless steel body with piezo ignition rated for 10,000+ sparks. That's approximately 5–7 years of daily use at 5 sparks per day. No batteries, no gas refills needed.
Q: Does this lighter need gas or batteries?
A: No. It uses piezo-electric ignition — just press the button to generate a spark. No gas, no batteries, no recurring costs.
Q: How long will it last?
A: The piezo mechanism is rated for 10,000+ sparks. At about 5 sparks per day, that is roughly 5–7 years of daily use.
Q: Is the body really full stainless steel?
A: Yes. Unlike lighters with plastic bodies and a thin metal cover, this lighter has genuine stainless steel construction throughout. Note that a fridge-magnet test is not a reliable way to check this on any lighter — common food-grade stainless steel is largely non-magnetic.
Q: Can I use it on all types of gas stoves?
A: Yes — works on all standard Indian gas stoves including 2-burner, 3-burner and 4-burner models.
Q: Does it work in humid conditions (monsoon)?
A: Yes. The piezo mechanism is sealed and works reliably in India's humid climate.
Q: What are the delivery and payment options?
A: Free shipping across India, no minimum order. All payment methods accepted — cash on delivery, UPI, cards, wallets and net banking.
